International Students

All international students considering applying to Quinsigamond Community College should read the application package carefully before applying to the College. Download the Steps to Enrollment for International Students at QCC for additional assistance with the process.

All International students must:

  • Complete Admissions International Student Application Form, International Student Agreement/Acknowledgement Form, and Immunization Requirement Form.
  • Submit $50.00 (USD) non-refundable application fee. We accept checks, money order, and money gram by mail and credit card by phone 508.854.4560.
  • Submit official secondary/high school diploma or transcript. If documents are not in English, an official translation must be attached.
  • Demonstrate English language proficiency, if English is not your first language.

Proof of English Proficiency

Quinsigamond Community College requires all applicants whose first language is not English to demonstrate English competency as a part of the application process. Students may demonstrate English competency by submitting scores from the TOEFL or IELTS.  Test results must be sent directly to Quinsigamond Community College. All English proficiency test scores must be within two years of the application deadline. You must achieve the following scores:

  1. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL: www.ets.org/toefl): 173 on the computer-based test or, 61 on the Internet based test or, 500 on the paper based test.
  2. Students who are presently in the U.S. can make arrangements to take the QCC College English Placement Test in the Testing Center. You must place into English 101 or higher. For more information, visit the testing section.
  3. Completed one-semester of a college level English course at an American College or university achieving a grade of C or better. Have an official transcript sent to Quinsigamond Community College.
  4. Students who have obtained a score of 5.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test.

International Student Acknowledgement

  • International students studying in the United States on visas cannot establish a permanent domicile in the United States no matter how many extensions are granted. International students must pay non-resident tuition.
  • To qualify for and maintain a student visa (F-1 status), the students must complete minimum of 12 credits in Fall, 12 credits in Spring and 6 credits in summer semesters. We recommend that you take 15 credits if you do not plan to take any summer courses. F-1 students are restricted to one on-line (3 credits) course per semester; the remainder of classes must be taken in a traditional, on campus setting.
  • International students may not accept unauthorized employment or they are subject to deportation.
  •  All students must complete the Immunization Requirement Form which indicates required vaccinations.
  • International Students cannot apply to Health Care Programs in their first semester at Quinsigamond Community College due to mandatory program requirements to be in the United States

Please plan for extra finances for some program specific fees and your living expenses (heating, clothing, food, etc.).

Please be advised that Quinsigamond Community College has no residence halls to house students. As an international student you will be responsible for making your own arrangements to obtain adequate housing.

Application Deadlines:

Fall Semester (September-December)

The deadline is July 1 (Students outside U.S.)

Spring Semester (January-May)

The deadline is November 1 (Students outside U.S.)

Transfer Academic Credit From a University abroad

If you want to transfer academic credits from a university abroad, you will need an evaluation agency(WES or CED) to assess your transcript.
