Greetings from the Quinsigamond Community College Foundation
At the QCC Foundation, we work to develop and promote resources that enhance the mission of the College. QCC is a gateway to advanced education and employment opportunities in Central Massachusetts.

During July of 2017 Dr. Luis Pedraja assumed the presidency of the College. Under his leadership, in coordination with the Board of Trustees chaired by Susan Mailman, a new strategic plan with initiatives to create new levels of excellence has been approved. Building upon work started under the past Foundation president, Maurice Boisvert, the Foundation Board is supporting goals within the strategic plan to support the initiative of 100% student success. To that end, the Foundation Board has taken to task a proposal to raise its $3 million dollar endowment to $10 million by 2020.
The Board has also expanded supportive services to help the students achieve their goals. In addition to supporting the College’s mentoring program, the Foundation is committed to raising funds necessary to sustain a Food Pantry and Resource Center to battle the growing problem among students of food insecurity. We have also partnered on pilot programs that create a pipeline for qualified high school students into the College and beyond.
The Board also realizes the crucial role the faculty plays in unique opportunities for student development. To this end, the Foundation supports faculty development and grants, as well as funds to attend professional conferences.
The cooperative education program’s employer recognition breakfast – in part funded by the Foundation – brings together and recognizes students and employers who have participated in the program. The program pairs students with area businesses to help them gain valuable job readiness skills and transition to jobs upon graduation. 90% of students graduating work in Central Massachusetts. New collaborations with area business is another focus the Board has pursued.
We are very excited about our important work. Together we can continue to create new “vistas of opportunity.”
