The Value of a Certificate

You can enhance your resume by completing a Certificate at Quinsigamond Community College! A Certificate program is a great way to gain valuable technical skills that employers seek in job applicants. Depending on the program, a Certificate can be completed in 6 to 9 classes--which usually amounts to one calendar year of full or part-time study.

Life can change very quickly. A short-term training option offers you the security of acquiring a marketable skill quickly without having to worry about challenges that may suddenly hinder your ability to complete a program.

Certificates lead to Careers

A Community College serves many purposes in a particular region. One of the many important functions of a Community College is to develop a skilled workforce for local employers. As needs emerge in a particular industry, employers often collaborate with their local Community College to provide training for an occupation. 

For example, National Grid and Quinsigamond Community College partnered in 2007 to develop the Energy Utility Technology Certificate. Today, many graduates of that program are enjoying rewarding careers with National Grid.

Certificates Allow for Exploration

Explore a career path by enrolling in a Certificate program. Most of our Associate’s Degree options are connected to a Certificate. These are called “Stackable Programs.” For example, the Law Enforcement Certificate is linked to our Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

You can use all of the credits that you earned in a Certificate towards a linked Associate’s Degree program.
