Student Testimonials

Tina Kelly, Class of 2004

"I truly believe that the education I received from the Early Childhood Program at QCC has helped me tremendously in my career as an early childhood educator. "Teaching begins with the children": the first statement written on the board my first day attending Curriculum class.  There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about this.  I believe that I am making a difference in the program I work in due to my education from QCC.  We can only stay true to ourselves and help to make small changes in these programs.  Hopefully, these small changes will lead to something bigger.  For now the only outcome measure that I care about is that I am making a positive difference in a child's life.  I want to thank the educators at QCC for my education and for helping me build the confidence to go out and make this difference."

Krystal LaPierre, Evening Core - Class of 2009

"...I came into theCORE thinking that yes I was going to learn to be a better teacher and that I wanted to be better.  I knew that I was going to have to student teach and I thought that it probably was going to be boring and even a little silly I mean, what was I really going to learn just by watching some teachers.  Boy was I ever so wrong.  Yes I did learn to be a better teacher but I also learned why I am a better teacher and why I teach in the first place.
Watching those teachers and seeing those children learning new concepts that they will carry on with them for the rest of their lives is so amazing to me! Learning the theories and truly being able to now understand why children act the way they do, and how they learn is so incredible to me.... One of the best decisions I ever made was to come back to school and enter into this program.  It has changed me as a person and made me a better teacher.  For that I am so grateful and I will never forget my time at QCC"
